The Poster Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Portland Art Museum has created more than 45 posters featuring works across the permanent collections. Explore the digital resource<\/a> and request prints of the most recent posters mailed to you. Posters are available free of charge to educators in Oregon and Washington. Hang them in classrooms, hallways, and libraries or take them out for specific activities and lessons. Our goal is to provide educators and students with artworks you can study and enjoy wherever you are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MORE COLORS THAN THE EYE CAN SEE: An Education Initiative Inspired by the Art of Jeffrey Gibson<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Contemporary Native American art offers one of our most powerful tools for countering stereotypes and asserting the ongoing presence and vitality of Indigenous peoples and cultures. The Portland Art Museum is proud to partner with the artist Jeffrey Gibson, 10 educators, SITE Santa Fe, and the Smithsonian\u2019s National Museum of the American Indian to develop exciting new resources for K-12 students and educators. Look for freely available videos, lessons, essays, and more, launching March 5, 2026, across two platforms: Native Knowledge 360\u00b0 Artist Spotlight<\/a> and the space in which to place me<\/em>: K-12 Education Resources<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Memory and Public Space: An Educator Unconference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

How do we use public space to remember? How do monuments, parks, neighborhoods, and streets work as sites to memorialize, create, negotiate\u2014and even forget\u2014history? The Portland Art Museum is collaborating with museums and cultural organizations across the state to provide resources for exploring these questions and ideas with students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
