Artists&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.emerybarnes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Emery Barnes<\/em><\/a><em>,&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pdx.edu\/magazine\/news\/witness-protest-joseph-blake-jr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Joseph Blake<\/em><\/a><em>,&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wweek.com\/arts\/2020\/09\/02\/photographer-linneas-boland-godbey-hosts-art-therapy-for-activists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Linneas Boland-Godbey<\/em><\/a><em>,&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidjacobo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Daveed Jacobo<\/em><\/a><em>,&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.momentsbymariahphotography.com\/pictures\/about-me\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Mariah Harris<\/em><\/a><em>, and&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/lfi-online.de\/ceemes\/en\/blog\/byron-merritt-blm-pdx-2440.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Byron Merritt<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;share their perspectives and purpose in this exhibition:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In solidarity with the national response to George Floyd\u2019s murder during the late Spring of 2020, Portlanders were called to show up for Black lives and dismantle white supremacy\u2014inherently perpetuated by our conventional systems and institutions that for centuries worked against Black human beings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the growing pains of organizing and sustaining hundreds of direct community action events, the fire in Portland never ceased to burn. The fire that fueled righteous rage and passion in the hearts of those who participated, bore witness, and were inspired to make change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Captured here are various moments during the 2020 Black Lives Matter Protests through the eyes of local BIPOC Artists in Portland, Oregon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAs history rolls along and goes into rewrites, this show is a must-see \u2013 if you were here in 2020, and more especially if you were not.\u201d<\/p>\n<cite>Joseph Gallivan, <a href=\"https:\/\/preview-art.com\/feature\/perspectives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Preview Art Magazine<\/a><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>We ask that you follow along this journey, relive these moments, listen to the stories shared, and open yourself up to the perspectives represented.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a great transformation underway, and it is never too late to be on the correct side of history.
